Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Calls Netanyahu’s Execution Legally Possible

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said that the death penalty for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for alleged war crimes is legally possible, PressTV reported, citing the official website of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

“We must try to understand whether it is possible to form a court consisting of two or three like-minded countries that support the Palestinian people. Within the framework of this court, such decisions can be made,” Gharibabadi emphasized. “In my opinion, there is nothing impossible about this. It is possible if we make an effort.”

On November 21, the ICC announced that it had issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed between at least October 8, 2023 and May 20, 2024 in Palestine, including the Gaza Strip. In the view of the Pre-Trial Chamber, they are criminally responsible for crimes such as murder, persecution and other inhumane acts, as well as the wilful commission of acts of starvation of civilians as a method of waging war.
