Some Western countries are again discussing the possibility of sending their troops or private military companies to Ukraine, sources say, reports Le Monde daily of France.
The respective debates have resumed amid the January inauguration US President-elect Donald Trump’s, who could stop Washington’s aid to Kyiv.
Negotiations are underway between the United Kingdom (UK) and France regarding cooperation in the defense sector, including the creation of an allied strike force in Europe, which will be oriented towards the strengthening of Ukraine and European security in general, a UK military source told Le Monde.
Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian president, commenting on this Le Monde report, and said that the Kremlin does not know to what extent these reports are accurate.
“But earlier, of course, similar ideas were voiced from various European capitals. But various counter-arguments not in favor of that idea were also expressed. Therefore, there is no consensus among the Europeans in this regard, but some hot heads are emerging,” Peskov added, Radio Mayak reports.
